A view from the balcony of 'our' house in the village. Beyond the fence (where you can see the small river) what you can see is China. Indeed, people from the other side of the fence are not allowed to visit Hong Kong, yet Hong Kong Chinese visiting China is a whole different story altogether.

Although it was relatively cold when I was visiting this place (it was, after all, around Christmas), it instantly reminded me of the small villages on Rhodos.
